Meeting The New Director Of New Dawn Fades
It was a long held ambition of Brian’s to stabilise the future direction of the play. He had been friends with the Artistic Director at Chorley Theatre for a number of years, Mark Jones and all three of us, Nigel, Tony and Brian drove up there on February 23rd. We were given a tour of the play and began talking through the script, and what we would need in terms of technical help, sound and video.
Chorley Theatre first opened its doors on 3rd September 1910 as the ‘Empire Electric Picture Palace’, making it one of the oldest still-operating purpose-built cinemas in the world. It sits right in the centre of town and Mark has been director there for teh past 10 years. Productions directed by Mark include The Girl on the Train (June 2023) , Pals, The Formby Show, Our House, Blood Brothers and Oliver Twist. Mark is a qualified ‘People Development Specialist’ and has over 30 years experience of developing people of all ages. He is also a big Joy Division fan!
We are thrilled to have Mark on board – onwards!
